Title: リューシカ・リューシカ (Ryuushika
Ryuushika)
Author: 安倍吉俊
(Yoshitoshi ABE)
Difficulty: 3 (1 easy, 5 hard)
Furigana: No
Format: 漫画 (Manga)
リューシカ・リューシカ
has several primary qualities: slice of life, short
stories, child main character, comedy, full color
This series is a tricky one. The story
follows the adventures of a young girl named Ryuushika as she lets
her imagination run wild. The fact that the main character is a child
means that most of the dialogue is in kana, which makes it easier to
read. However, other characters have kanji in their dialogue (without
furigana), so that can make it more difficult. Also, as with all
comedy, there can be cultural references that are hard to understand
unless you have encountered them before.
Plot: Ryuushika is a young girl
with a wild imagination. She sees wild things in the mundane, which
makes for an interesting and amusing story. Each chapter focuses on
some new instance where Ryuushika's imagination has led her on an
adventure of the sort that only a child can have.
In Summary,
this manga is another enjoyable read that will present a moderate
challenge. It's amusing, interesting, and a good starter manga for
moving away from furigana. Plus, it's full color.
That's quite rare. So give Ryuushika a chance!

Sounds similar to Yotsubato!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't plucked up the courage to give that a go again, will do so once I finish KO21K.
Can't wait till I can read stuff like this...actually I can as I have learnt that waiting is the key to prevent burnout.
